25000 Households in Varanasi to have Rooftop Solar
A mega rooftop solar drive is set to roll out in Varanasi. The Uttar Pradesh government has planned an extensive roadmap to install rooftop solar on 25,000 city households!
The goal of UPNEDA is to solarize 250 residences across 100 city wards. According to officials, the agency would employ geospatial technology to locate homes with sufficient roof space that are clear of shadows, with assistance from the Remote Sensing Application Centre, Lucknow. UPNEDA has also finalised 100 solar panel vendors and 25 manufacturers and distributors to speed up this project. (Source: Hindustan Times)
What Is Rooftop Solar?

The government is also set to launch an out reach public relations campaign to increase solar power awareness and educate people about solar energy systems and their advantages.
